Chastity Forum

In the month of April 2012 our organization Youth for Family and Life conduct a forum deals about Chastity. Our chapter organized a LIVE PURE forum to discuss what chastity is all about and what the effect of this issue in teenagers nowadays.

What is CHASTITY?

It is the virtue which excludes or moderates the indulgence of the sexual appetite.

The virtue of chastity is self- restraint and allows us to master our sexual impulses.

The virtue of chastity seeks to permeate the passions and appetites of the senses with reason.

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person and thus the inner unity of a person in their bodily and spiritual being.

As such its motive would be the natural decency seen in the control of sexual appetite, according to the norm of reason. Such a motive springs from the dignity of human nature which without this rational sway is degraded to brutish levels.

Modern day technologies have a big impact in influencing people around the world particularly the teenagers.

Teenagers Fashion

Fashion is first and foremost a social statement for all teenagers nowadays. In fact is the outward means of expression to their peers and the rest of the world. Teenagers try to express their identity through the use of material objects.

Among these material objects, clothing is perhaps one of the most important. Especially teenagers use clothing as a tool of reflecting their opinions, values, and characteristics, which make up a person’s identity. Teens think that it is clothing which makes them distinguished from others and allows them to be unique. Teenagers are simply exposed to all sorts of influences via media and channels, which established the so-called trend among themselves. Teens are unique and they follow different clothing styles which also convey different messages to express their self. However, even though clothing can be used as a means of expressing identity, communicating through the clothing preferences can also dangerously hamper the identity development of the teens by making them focus so much on brands, creating group pressure and causing the loss of individual characteristics.
